Getting Started

A wall-mounted unit that lets you charge your electric vehicle faster and safer than a standard 3-pin socket. Installed by qualified professionals, usually 7.4kW as standard.

If you own the property and have a driveway or private parking, usually not. Flats and rental properties may need landlord or freeholder consent.

Installed prices typically range from £995 to £1,295 depending on cable length, location and the charger model. OZEV grants are still available for landlords, flats and rented homes.

Yes. As of June 2022, all home chargers must be smart-enabled — meaning they can schedule charging during off-peak times to reduce grid strain and lower your bills.

Charger & Vehicle Compatibility

Yes. Nearly all UK EVs and plug-in hybrids use a Type 2 connector. All chargers we install are compatible with Type 2 as standard.

Tethered has a fixed cable — just plug and go. Untethered (socketed) gives a cleaner look and flexibility if you drive different vehicles. No major performance difference.

Possibly. We can install dual chargers or two separate units — depends on your home’s power supply. We’ll check during the survey.

Installation & Usage

Around 3–4 hours for standard installs. Complex jobs (e.g. long cable runs, fuse board upgrades) may take longer. We’ll confirm beforehand.

No — you need off-street parking. If you only have on-street parking, speak to your local council about public charging options or kerbside pilot schemes.

A 7.4kW home charger adds around 25–30 miles of range per hour. Full overnight charges are easy — ideal for daily commuting.

We cover most of Scotland. All installations are carried out by OZEV-approved installers.
